Arsenal's Greatest Kits of the Premier League Era

After the recent announcement of Arsenal forming a new kit partnership with Adidas, I thought that during this international break, I would take a look at our most memorable, attractive and nostalgic kits over the course of our time in the Premier League. In no particular order I will touch on a few of my favourites.

The Adidas kit deal is effective from July 1, 2019. This deal comes as exciting news to Arsenal fans as our time with Puma has been very 'hit and miss' it is safe to say. Although one of my recent favourite kits came under the Puma brand, I have been excited for the sponsorship to end, and Adidas is a brand I would believe many see as a pretty attractive prospect. It also reunites us as Arsenal and Adidas were once in partnership before and created some classic kits in the 90's. Of these kits the most notable and memorable was of course the 'Bruised Banana kit' so, what better place to start?

This kit was loved and loathed during the 1991-1993 seasons. People just did not really know what to think of it. However now it is looked back on as an absolute classic, and adored by most, if not all Arsenal fans. Many of which are calling on Adidas to release a modernised take on this kit when they are to take over as our kit sponsor.

This kit brings back memories for any Arsenal fan. Our last season at Highbury, Thierry Henry's hatrick on the final day against Wigan, and of course the hilarious penalty blunder between Thierry Henry and Robert Pires. This kit was a unique burgundy colour with gold features and it ranks up as one of our best looking kits to date.

Last seasons pink and black kit. In my opinion the best offering from Puma we were ever presented with. One of the most modern kits we have probably had, this was a bit of a negative for some of the more old school and traditional Gooners. This kit unfortunately doesn't really come with the memories of a great season or trophy win, but it is pleasing on the eye.

What can I say, classic, clean red and white. But most importantly, Invincible.

The 13/14 away kit may be a bit of a surprise entry for some, but I loved the classic look of this kit, the collar and colours were just plain simple and tidy. Also memorable for Aaron Ramsey having an absolute blinder of a season which fans still talk about often today.

Another Adidas classic is this home kit from 1992-94. It has a very retro feel to it and the stripes on the long sleeves make it a pretty trendy wear, even today.

It was a tough decision whether or not to put this here as it is the kit we wore in the devastating Champions League loss against FC Barcelona. However even with a bog of a sour taste, this kit gives me a huge amount of nostalgia, and I always loved the look of it, admittedly a lot more before that final though.

Not really a whole lot to say about this one, just simply love the look of it. White and burgundy with a classy gold trim, looked great on and off the pitch.

This choice comes down to personal taste a fair bit. Many of you are probably shaking your head seeing this on the list. For me it bring memories of prime Santi Cazorla, and I also appreciated that it was nothing like we had ever had before. Additionally it was made from recycled bottles which is a nice touch.

I never know what I think about the look of this kit, but its unique, retro and most importantly we won the league at Old Trafford in it in 2002.

These are 10 of the Arsenal kits of the Premier League Era, that I will always adore. Each for their own unique reasons they represent Arsenal in the era that I have grown up watching. Heres to hoping that Adidas can deliver some stellar kits from next season onward, and hopefully we can win some silverware in them to make them all the more beautiful.
