For many years the battle of the premier league was between Arsène Wenger Arsenal & Alex Ferguson Manchester United. These two clubs dominated the premier league throughout the 90s into the 2000s. Chelsea and Manchester City with their sugar daddy owners have since overtaken both clubs in the later part of 2000. Throw in an underdog title for Leicester City and now Liverpool this year 2019/20.

Arsenal hasn’t been a dominant force for the past decade, some say we were unlucky in 2016 finishing second to Leicester City, Apparently it was meant to be the year Arsenal win the league again. Keeping in mind we were 10 points adrift from Leicester city. Arsenal has snagged a couple of FA cup trophies but the last two seasons in the premier league have been the worst two in 20 years failing to qualify for champions league.

The media rotate the same news “Arsenal doesn’t have any money. You don’t have to look far to see what Arsenal have spent. Breaking the transfer fee each summer. Looking at the team on paper it certainly looks like a good team every premier league club would froth over an Aubameyang, Pepe, and Lacazette on their books. Throw in Özil, Xhaka, and Torreira it’s looking good. Then the young guns coming up Saka, Martinelli, and Nelson it’s a team many would start to dribble over. Now I look at the defense Mustafi, Sokratis, Holding, Luiz, and the dribble stops. Arteta really has his work cut out for him and it’s a great challenge to have for a young manager but our latest history makes Arsenal a mid-table team?
